OUGD601: Context of Practice 3 - Language Issues (4 Steps)

Four Steps:

I am creating a step-by-step process for new users, to explain how to use the website. I plan to place this further down the page as regular users need the Log In and Navigation and won't want to scroll past the step-by-step guide every time they enter the site. It is therefore very important that the language used is clear and simple so that new customers understand the process and don't miss any vital steps. If they were to try and search for food straight away they would be unsuccessful as they would be asked to sign up first, this might annoy some users and divert them from the website. It is therefore imperative that the language used within the steps is clear and does not make users click before they should.

Morrisons already use a similar step-by-step process but I want to make the the design more user friendly. Using arrow shapes helps to distinguish the steps as an important feature of the site. Also using the title, New to Morrisons? Follow our 4 Simple Steps to get shopping, will appeal to users who are not sure what to click on.

Design:

I used the yellow colour from the Morrisons logo and the green for the icons. The icons are very similar to the icons already used by Morrisons.

Adding a button to the end of the steps is misleading as users will first need to complete the first three steps before they can shop. I plan to change this with a reward.

I used an icon of a tick to signify the reward at the end of the process, I hope this will be clear and simple for users.
